Meeting of Members – Agenda:

   • 5:00 SessionSandy - A Disaster Declaration
Examine two simultaneous real computer room disasters. Come and hear the actual account of the events, actions and challenges faced by both companies in these real world situations. Disasters are real and deadly to your business. We will review step by step the timelines and events surrounding the disasters, the declarations, and the remedies applied in both situations. In addition, we will discuss and debate the internal and external influences (especially the human elements) that came into play as the scenarios unfolded. Were they ready? Did shortcuts and technical missteps come back to haunt them in their hour of need? You be the judge.

   • 6:00 Intermission (Including Buffet Meal)

   • 7:00 Session – Business Continuity for 21st Century
Backup & Recovery program design is undergoing a dramatic transformation.  Complacent DR thinking is a classic risk management mistake that will cost your organization dearly in a disaster.  People, Technology and Geography are common critical points of failure.  Now organizations can choose from a host of technologies to incrementally improve or completely transform their backup, recovery, and enhance availability requirements for the Data Center. Data protection techniques have made great strides in addressing today's business challenges as it relates to recovery of IBM Power and other platforms. The seminar will provide the attendee an overview of the following fundamentals:
  1.    Traditional Backup & Recovery
  2.    Cloud - Virtualization for DR
  3.    Systems Availability
