President’s Note

Dear TUG Community Member:

Well, after a long hot summer it's time to kick off our Fall Season. This year TUG is starting with a bang!

Full Day "Mini-Summit" Seminar

Mark your calendar on Wednesday September 26 for a very special day at the Savoy Conference Centre attached to the Monte Carlo Inn, 7255 Warden Avenue in Markham (corner of Warden & Dennison, 2 blocks north of Steeles). During the day, Jon Paris and Susan Gantner will present 2 full tracks (4 sessions each track). The TUG member price of $199 (+ tax) includes breakfast and lunch plus morning and afternoon breaks.

TUG "MoM":
Then in the evening, Alison Butterill will speak at the TUG Meeting of Members at the same location. (Free admission to TUG members). As usual the meeting will include a complimentary buffet dinner (sponsored by IBM Canada Ltd.)

     • Session 1: 9:00 - 10:15
     • Session 2: 10:30 - 11:45
     • Lunch/roundtable/interview: 11:45 - 13:00

     • TUG MOM (IBM) – 16:00 +

TUG Night School

We are also resuming the TUG Night School program, with the first class ("First Step to modern web: HTML5, CSS3") starting Monday September 10. We have 10 different courses lined up for this semester, including: Linux, PHP, HTML5, CSS3, Java Script, Ruby on Rails, SQL on I, and Web Services on i.
